Over the past year, I’ve had the chance to step into the world of recruitment, a role that’s offered valuable insights and a fresh perspective on the hiring process. After spending several years in the trust industry, I decided to mix things up and help candidates find their dream jobs.
As a recruiter, I gained a deeper understanding of the challenges candidates face: the nerves before interviews, the excitement of finding the right fit, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with job hunting. It also made me really appreciate the huge benefits of working with a well-informed agency like Axal Leine, especially when it comes to supporting people through their careers, offering guidance, feedback, and encouragement.
But after a year in recruitment, I’m now excited to return to the trust industry and look forward to the different challenges that lie ahead. In a typical job search, you’d usually secure your next role before speaking to your current employer and handing in your notice, but that wasn’t the case for me. Instead, I decided to have an open conversation with Renny about my decision and asked him to help me find my next role.
Working at Axal Leine for a year meant I gained so much insight into our clients and the industry as a whole and therefore, I was in a unique position to be more selective about where I wanted my CV to go, with hopes of landing interviews at companies that aligned with my career goals.
It’s been an amazing year at Axal Leine. I’ve learned a great deal and shared plenty of laughs along the way. But now, I’m excited for the next chapter of my life and the new challenges that await me in the trust industry.
